More Vanilla Weapons
by Just_Alex_
More Vanilla Weapons gives the vanilla weapon set many new variants, each with its own damage, speed and reach for Forge and NeoForge, and players can pick the one that suits their style of combat.
What it does
The weapons are grouped by type, so a player choosing a weapon picks from several versions of swords, axes, shovels, bows and crossbows instead of only the originals. Each variant trades damage against attack speed or reach: one is a high damage weapon with medium speed and more knockback, another is a faster sword that is slightly weaker and reaches farther, and a further one hits several mobs with a single strike. Some variants add special behavior, such as a shovel that stuns mobs, an axe that has a chance of a critical hit, or a weapon that dashes forward on a right click.
Bows and crossbows can charge or launch arrows faster and keep more durability than their vanilla counterparts, and a crossbow variant deals more damage. The content is built for Forge and NeoForge. Client and server both need the mod, so every player on a server that runs it installs it too. More Vanilla Weapons is not open source and is released under All rights reserved; its issue tracker is public.
Key features
Varied sword and axe stats
Several sword and axe variants differ in damage, speed and reach, so the choice of weapon changes how a fight plays out.
Area and multi-hit weapons
A fast, low-damage weapon can hit several mobs with one swing, and a balanced weapon hits one enemy at a time.
Special right-click and crouch effects
Some weapons dash forward on a right click, stun mobs on hit, or deal extra damage when the wielder is crouching.
Faster and sturdier bows
Bows and crossbows charge or launch arrows faster and keep more durability, with one crossbow variant dealing more damage.
