Mob Aspects

by Magy

Mob Aspects gives every entity a random elemental aspect on spawn, with lightning, ice, fire and water each carrying a passive trait and an effect applied on hit.

ForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

When an entity spawns, including the player, it is assigned one of four aspects: lightning, ice, fire or water. Each aspect has its own properties and a passive effect. Hitting an entity with a lightning aspect applies Shocked, and a lightning strike charges the attacker with Strength 2, Speed 2, Resistance 2 and Absorption 5 for five seconds. Shocked entities periodically mark their world location, which appears three seconds later as a lightning strike.

The ice aspect applies Frozen on hit and is buried in powdered snow with a long duration, granting Resistance 2 and Regeneration 2 while frozen. The fire aspect applies Hot on hit, sets the target on fire continuously and gives Haste 2 and Speed 2 with Regeneration. The water aspect applies Breathless, slows oxygen loss in air and water, and near water grants Absorption 1 that refreshes for 10 seconds. Rooted entities are pushed downward, which prevents jumping and slows movement.

The mod is written for Forge on Minecraft 1.20.1 and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
