Misinput is a client-side Fabric mod that stops the player from hitting friends by accident, by cancelling attacks against usernames on a saved list.

What it does

Players build a list of usernames they do not want to attack. When the player tries to hit one of those players, the hit is cancelled, which prevents accidental damage. The list is changed with commands that add and remove names, and it is kept between sessions, servers and worlds. Because the mod only runs on the client, players install it alone and servers need nothing. Fabric API is required, and files cover 1.21 – 1.21.11 under the MIT License.
