Mending Recharged
Mending Recharged changes how the Mending enchantment draws on experience, letting damaged items repair from the stored XP bar while the player keeps playing.
What it does
When a Mending item is damaged, the mod spends stored experience from the XP bar to repair it, so repairs continue even when no new XP orbs are being picked up. Only the amount of experience needed for the repair is consumed, and the drain stops once everything is fixed or the bar runs out. Vanilla Mending keeps working as before, and the mod adds repairs on top of it rather than replacing it.
Repairs apply to damaged Mending items in the inventory, the armor slots and the offhand. The logic runs on the server side, so the mod works in singleplayer and on multiplayer servers alike. Mending Recharged is built for Forge and is published only for 1.20.1, where the latest file is 0.6. It runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under All rights reserved, which means it is not open source.
Key features
Stored XP repairs
Mending items draw experience from the XP bar to repair themselves automatically, without waiting for new orbs.
Vanilla Mending kept
The standard enchantment keeps its usual behavior, and the extra repair adds to it.
Adaptive experience drain
Only the experience a repair requires is taken, so the bar is not emptied for a small fix.
Covered equipment slots
Damaged Mending items in the inventory, armor and offhand are all eligible for repair.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Long mining trips
Players who travel far from XP sources can keep their Mending gear repaired from experience already saved on the bar.
Multiplayer servers
Server owners who run Mending-enchanted equipment can rely on the same server-side repair logic for every player.
Who it’s for: Players on Forge 1.20.1 who use Mending-enchanted tools and armor, in singleplayer or on a server. Server owners who want the repair to run on their own side will also need the mod installed there.
How it compares
No Inventory Repair is server-side only, open source under the MIT License, and built for Forge on 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, so players can join without installing it. auto-mending is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and published for Forge and NeoForge on 1.19.2 – 1.21.1, so the server does not need it. Mending Recharged is client and server, released under All rights reserved, and covers only Forge 1.20.1.
