Matchbox is a Fabric and Quilt equipment mod that bundles a small set of convenience tools for the Minecraft builder, from candle lighting to an altimeter.

What it does

The mod groups several small utilities into one install. A lit candle or campfire can ignite nothing else, which makes lighting them safer in worlds where fire spread is a concern. Fences, glass panes and walls can be detached from their neighbours with a simple right click, and a wood glue item turns stripped logs back into regular logs.

Block items can pass through other entities that normally block them, and solid items are handled well while powered. An altimeter, added in version 0.4.0, shows the height of the world, and a more precise readout appears when the player uses it. Matchbox is published for Fabric and Quilt across 10 release versions, 1.18.1 – 1.21.6, and is open source under the BSD 3-Clause License.

A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Builds exist for 1.21.1 and 1.21.6 among others, with 0.5.3-1.21.1 as the latest Fabric file and 0.5.1-1.20.1 as the latest Quilt file.
