MapMakerBlocks
by Neuromuser
MapMakerBlocks adds a set of blocks for map developers, including invisible walkable blocks, single-use player finders, a silent sensor, a block visualizer and a wireless sign.
What it does
Invisible walkable blocks can be connected into a network that activates redstone when a player moves within a set distance. Single-use player finders detect a player once and are destroyed after their first activation. An invisible silent block sensor works alongside them and can be placed where a map builder wants detection without any visible marker.
A block visualizer item, held in the hand, makes invisible blocks visible while it is held, so a builder can check placements. A wireless sign transmits a signal over distance, and it keeps working across long distances as long as the chunks involved stay loaded. The blocks cannot be crafted in survival, since they are meant for mapmaking rather than ordinary play.
The mod requires Fabric API. The server and every player need the mod installed. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.20.1, and the source code and issue tracker are public under the MIT License, which makes the mod open source.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Map developers building adventure maps and redstone puzzles. The blocks are meant for mapmaking and are not part of normal survival progression, so they are not craftable in survival.
How it compares
Connected Signs is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 that runs on client and server and is open source under the Apache License 2.0, so it covers signs rather than map blocks. Sign Preview is a client-side only Fabric mod for 1.20.1 – 26.3 released under the MIT License, so players can use it without server changes.
