Magic From The East

by warphan04riu

Magic From The East is a Forge and NeoForge add-on for Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks that brings spells, weapons and armor inspired by ancient Asian and Middle Eastern cultures.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod extends the spellbook system it depends on, so it cannot run without that dependency installed next to it. It introduces new magic schools drawn from the mythology and history of Asia and the Middle East, with their own spells and equipment added to the existing system.

Two new school-related features are included, along with a Dune School and a fourth school that the author has not yet revealed. A set of additional weapons and armor sits alongside the new spells, and the author text lists related mechanics and future plans without detailing them. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with builds for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and both client and server need the mod.

Key features

  1. Dune School

A magic school themed on desert cultures, with spells added to the existing spellbook system.

  2. Regional spell sets

More spells draw on the mythical traditions of Asian and Middle Eastern countries as their source material.

  3. Weapon and armor set

A new set of weapons and armor pieces gives players equipment tied to the added schools.

  4. Symmetry Spirit

A mechanic named Symmetry Spirit is listed among the mod's school-related features.

How it compares

Full comparison

Wind's Spellbooks is an add-on that also runs on Forge and NeoForge with a client and server environment, but its versions reach 1.21.2 and it is not open source. Galosphere: Spellbooks covers 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 on the same loaders and environment, under All rights reserved. EMF Compat: Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks is client-side only and is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, so it needs nothing on the server.
