MaceAddons
Players who want more from the Mace can use MaceAddons, a NeoForge mod that adds enchantments and a tiered upgrade system for the weapon.
What it does
MaceAddons changes the Mace through an upgrade path. The weapon moves through tiers, from Iron Mace to Gold Mace, Diamond Mace and Netherite Mace, and a Mace Upgrader Table is used together with the Mace Upgrader to enhance it and open access to stronger enchantments. Each enchantment favors a different style of play, whether that means getting around quickly, controlling a crowd, dealing blast damage or hitting harder in a single blow.
The enchantments change how a Mace hit or smash plays out. Some pull a target toward the player after a hit, others move the player a few blocks toward the target after a smash, and others build combo stacks, mark a focused target or add damage to burning enemies. Smashes can also charge the weapon for an explosion, and attacks can ignore shields and pass through Totems of Undying.
The mod is published for NeoForge only, across 1.21.1, 1.21.4 and 1.21.8, with the 1.0.2.1 file as the latest build for 1.21.8. It is licensed under the MIT License and is not open source. Both the server and every player need it, because the upgrades and enchantments are used during play.
Key features
Tiered Mace upgrades
The Mace advances from Iron to Gold, Diamond and Netherite through the upgrader table.
Pulling and dashing enchantments
One enchantment pulls a target toward the player after a hit, its opposite pushes it away, and another dashes the player forward on right-click.
Combo and focus mechanics
Consecutive hits stack a bonus that resets after 10 stacks, and a focus effect marks an enemy for increasing damage.
Smash effects
A successful smash grants a boost that stacks up to five smashes, and after 10 smashes a right-click releases an explosion.
Status and health-based damage
Hits can inflict Mining Fatigue, Slowness or Weakness, and some enchantments add damage based on the target's current health.
