Low Tech Crafting
by masa
Low Tech Crafting adds a Better Crafting Table, a persistent-inventory variant of the vanilla Crafting Table that hoppers and pipes can feed and drain.
What it does
The block is a crafting table with its own inventory, stored in a block entity, so automation can interact with it. Hoppers, pipes and similar containers can insert items into the grid, which accepts one item per crafting grid slot, and they can pull the crafting result out through the output slot, which is checked first. Items are not limited to the player's maximum stack size on insertion, and a filter can be set on the output item type.
The mod was started by Xcom6000 as a demonstration for the developers at Mojang of ways the table could be improved for automated crafting contraptions. Building a working automated setup with the vanilla table takes considerable effort, and this block is meant to make that simpler. Low Tech Crafting is published for Forge only, runs on client and server, and is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so it is open source. Its files cover 14 release versions, with 0.2.0 for 1.19.2 as the latest.
Key features
Persistent inventory
The table keeps its items in a block entity, so contents stay in place instead of being returned to the player.
Hopper and pipe input
Containers and pipes can fill the crafting grid, one item per slot, to automate recipes.
Output-first extraction
Automation pulls the crafting result from the output slot first, so finished items leave the table cleanly.
Item type filter
A filter on the output item type lets automation extract only the results the player chooses.

What the author says
Low Tech Crafting adds just one new block: a "Better Crafting Table". It's very similar to the vanilla Crafting Table, with the main differences being that it has a persistent inventory. So basically it uses a BlockEntity to store the inventory, and it can be interacted with by "automation", meaning Hoppers, pipes etc.
