Lovely Robot's variants draw on LovelyLib, a shared library layer that supplies the robot type system, the animation profiles and the save migration they have in common.
What it does
LovelyLib sits between the HZLib library and the three Lovely Robot variants, handling the logic every robot companion has in common so the variants do not each carry their own copy. Its robot type system, LovelyRobotType, composes features such as levelling, combat and protection for each robot type. Shared animation profiles cover idle, walk, rest and sit, and attack animations are built on the profile infrastructure from HZLib.
The library also provides robot profile migration, which performs version-aware NBT data migration so that saves stay compatible across updates. Feature composition is wired together per robot type through classes such as LevelFeature, CombatLevelFeature and ProtectionFeature. It requires Geckolib.
Geckolib is required, so it must be installed next to LovelyLib. The mod runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge and targets Minecraft 1.21.1, with the latest files for 1.21.1-1.0.0 published on 2026-07-04. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and is not open source. The client and server both need it.
