Loud Horns
by Maxsteelbro
Loud Horns adds sound horns, including a Clown Horn, an Air Horn and a Loud Horn, that players use to make noise that other players and nearby mobs can hear.
What it does
Each horn produces a sound that carries through the world. Players can use them to annoy friends, and nearby mobs react to the noise by targeting the player from up to 12 blocks away for the standard horns and up to 24 blocks away for the loud air blast. A horn is three blocks tall in the sound it makes, which gives it a function as a world signal and a way to communicate across a base or a server.
The horns are built around sound effects meant to be heard across a world. The mod includes a server-side configuration file, so server owners can adjust how the horns behave on their own world. It runs on the client and the server, so both need Loud Horns to make the horns work for everyone. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across five release versions, 1.19.4 – 1.21.8, and the code is released under the MIT License, though the project is not open source.
