Liquid Blocks
by Mrbysco
Liquid Blocks lets players craft buckets of liquid versions of many common blocks, which pour out as fluid and then solidify after a set time.
What it does
Each supported block gets a liquid counterpart. A player crafts a bucket of the liquid form, places it down as a fluid, and the fluid turns back into the solid block after a delay. The default delay is 200 ticks, and a config option changes it. The approach suits filling areas quickly, much like cement.
Covered blocks include dirt, coarse dirt and podzol; stone, granite, andesite and diorite; sandstone and red sandstone; sand and red sand; soul sand and netherrack; clay; terracotta and stained terracotta; and concrete in its color variants. The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and the server alone needs it. Builds exist for 1.12.2 and for the 1.16.5 – 26.1.2 range on Forge and NeoForge, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Liquid block buckets
Buckets of liquid block forms are crafted and placed like water or lava, filling an area in one action.
Timed solidification
Placed liquids turn back into solid blocks after a configurable delay, with 200 ticks as the default.
Wide block coverage
Stone types, sand types, terracotta, concrete and several Nether and natural blocks all get liquid forms.
Recipe lookup with JEI
Players can look up the buckets' crafting recipes in JEI, which the author recommends for finding them.

Use cases
Filling large areas
A player floods a room or pit with a block type, and it hardens into a solid floor or wall over time.
Building with mixed materials
Concrete and terracotta colors can be laid as fluid and set in place, which speeds up colored builds.
Who it’s for: Players who want to fill areas with solid blocks in a fast, pour-like way, and server owners who want a building aid without any client install.
