Lifesteal adds a heart-stealing mechanic to Fabric for 1.21.1, where a player who dies leaves a heart behind for another player to take.
What it does
Lifesteal is built for Lifesteal SMP style play: when one player is killed, one of their hearts is removed, and the heart they leave behind can be picked up by another player with a right-click in the air. Taking the heart grants an extra heart to the collector. The mod is aimed at players who want to try the mechanic with friends without joining a server that already runs it. Installation needs Fabric, and Model Gap Fix is an optional dependency. Lifesteal runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for 1.21.1 only, and the latest release is 4.0.0, dated 2024-10-04, under a custom license that is not open source.
Key features

A player who dies loses one heart, and that heart can be taken by another player.
