Come Home
by DaWil__
Come Home lets a player store a personal home spot and return there immediately, even when the destination lies in another dimension.
What it does
A player sets a home by right-clicking a block, and the mark stays in place until it is changed. Later, the player can return to that point with a single teleport, even when the home lies in a different dimension. The mod is aimed at players who want a reliable way back after long journeys, and it adds a Void Compass for the same purpose.
The Void Compass is a crafted item that remembers both a position and a dimension. Each teleport uses durability, so the compass wears down with use and breaks once it runs out, after which the player must craft a new one to keep traveling. Setup menus and complicated crafting requirements are kept out of the way, so the mod works without a long configuration step.
Come Home runs on Fabric and needs Fabric API and Model Gap Fix. The server and every player need the mod installed. It is published for 1.21.8 only, with 1.0.0 as the latest file, and it is released under a custom license that is not open source. Source code and an issue tracker are public.
Key features
Personal home marks
Right-clicking a block stores it as the player's home, and the point can be used again later.
Cross-dimension teleport
The home teleport works across dimensions, so a return trip does not require walking back through a portal.
Void Compass
A compass stores a position and dimension, and each use spends durability until the item breaks.
Simple setup
The mod avoids complicated setup menus and crafting requirements, so a player can start using it directly.
