Life-Size Bdubs

Life-Size Bdubs adds a life-size Bdubs entity that players can befriend, carry on their shoulder and trade items with.
What it does
Giving Bdubs an item makes him belong to the player who gave it. Right-clicking him places him on the player's shoulder, where he shares small fun facts in quotes. Giving him sugar produces unexpected results, and the mod also includes a data-driven way to add other friends with their own variants. Bdubs takes items without changing his skin, and each variant reuses the exact Minecraft skin, so a player can copy the skin and add a personal variant.
The mod is a Social, Cursed, Mobs and Adventure entry for Fabric and NeoForge, running on 1.21.1 only. Installation covers the server and each player's game. It depends on Fabric API and Geckolib, and the code is open source under the MIT License. Bdubs left in a world without interaction for 5 minutes stops being a problem for the world, since he does not cause lag, but if his owner changes game mode or dies he disappears without trace.

Use cases
Carrying Bdubs while flying
With Bdubs riding on their shoulders, a player can jump and fly freely, and the replica stays put until a game mode switch or a death removes him.
Adding a personal variant
A player can copy the Minecraft skin, add a personal variant and keep Bdubs's own look unchanged.
