Kill sound
Kill sound plays a chosen Minecraft sound each time the player lands a killing blow on another player, on Fabric 1.21 – 1.21.11.
What it does
When the local player delivers the killing blow on another player, Kill sound plays a sound effect of the player's choice. Only player-versus-player kills trigger it, and the sound is played locally, so other players do not hear it. Mob kills are ignored.
Players can pick from a range of Minecraft sounds, such as level-up, orb pickup, dragon death or wither spawn, and each choice gives a different mood to the moment. Volume and pitch can be adjusted, and the whole effect can be switched off without uninstalling the mod.
The mod is client-side only, so servers do not need it and players join without installing anything. It is published for Fabric alone, with 12 release versions 1.21 – 1.21.11, and the latest file is 1.0.2 for 1.21.11, released in the alpha channel. The code is under the Apache License 2.0, and the mod is not open source.
Key features
Automatic kill detection
The mod detects when the local player lands a killing blow on another player and starts the sound with no command needed.
Choice of Minecraft sounds
Sounds from the game's own library, including level-up, orb pickup, dragon death and wither spawn, can be assigned.
Volume and pitch controls
Volume can be set to a preferred level, and pitch can be raised or lowered to fine-tune the effect.
Enable and disable toggle
A switch turns the sound off without removing the mod from the folder, so the setup can be changed at any time.
Compatibility
