KeyF3

by Yunivers

KeyF3 restores the debug screen's keyboard shortcuts for the Beta build, so holding F3 with another key runs the same actions modern Minecraft uses.

FabricBabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen sourceb1.7.3

What it does

Holding F3 and pressing a second key triggers a debug action, such as reloading chunks, showing hitboxes, clearing chat or toggling chunk boundaries. KeyF3 backports these bindings to the Beta build, which predates them, and maps each one to the key used in later versions.

The mod needs StationAPI, the modding framework for the Beta build on Fabric and Babric, and runs on the client alone, so servers and other players do not need it. Files are published for b1.7.3 only, with snapshot builds included. The source code and issue tracker are public, and the project is open source under the MIT License. BH Creative and RetroCommands are optional and add no required setup.

Key features

  1. Chunk reload shortcut

F3 with R reloads the chunks around the player without restarting the game.

  2. Hitbox display

F3 with B shows entity hitboxes, which helps when checking collision or positioning.

  3. Chat clearing

F3 with D clears the chat window in one step.

  4. Chunk boundary overlay

F3 with G draws the borders of loaded chunks, useful when building across chunk edges.

  5. Modern F3 bindings

Pause on lost focus, the entity list and resource pack reloading are mapped to F3 combinations as in later versions.
