FConfigLib
by ForwarD-NerN
FConfigLib is a Fabric configuration library that other mods can use to read, write and validate their settings across Minecraft versions.
What it does
The library provides an annotation-based way to declare configuration values, with limiters and validators that check each value as it loads. Developers can build their config screens and files on top of it without writing the parsing code themselves. Config fixers are included so a settings file written for an older layout can be converted to the current one.
FConfigLib targets a version-independent configuration approach, so the same configuration code can run on a wide span of game builds, from rd-132211 to 26.3. It is listed for Fabric Loader only, and its author states it also works with forks and related projects such as Ornithe, LegacyFabric and Babric, and with other Java games that load through Fabric Loader. Java 8 or newer is required.
Installation goes next to Fabric API. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with its source code and issue tracker publicly linked. Two catalog mods, Player Ladder and AntiShadowPatch, require it.
Key features
Annotation-based values
Configuration fields are declared with annotations, so a mod defines its options in the code that uses them.
Value limiters and validators
Annotations restrict a value to an allowed range or format and reject entries that fail the check.
Config fixers
Fixers convert a settings file from an earlier layout, so existing configuration survives a version change.
Simple API
A small set of calls covers reading, writing and updating values, keeping integration short for mod authors.

Use cases
Mod authors
Developers who need persistent settings can add them with annotations instead of building their own file handling.
Projects on forks
Teams porting to Ornithe, LegacyFabric or Babric can reuse the same configuration code on those loaders.
Who it’s for: Mod developers who want one configuration system across many game versions. Players usually only meet it as a dependency of the mods that require it.
