AntiShadowPatch
by ForwarD-NerN
AntiShadowPatch restores a set of technical bugs that Mojang patched in past Minecraft releases, for Fabric servers that want the old behaviour back.
What it does
Each entry in the mod reverses one fix that Mojang shipped in an earlier snapshot or release. The list includes the StackOverflow and CCE update suppression fixes, which were patched in 22w11a and 23w35a, the entity ID suppression fix patched in 26.2-pre-1, and the trapdoor update skipping fix patched in 1.20-pre2. Graceful out-of-memory and graceful StackOverflow handling are also changed back, along with the item shadowing change from 21w43a.
The mod runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything. It needs FConfigLib on the server, and the files are built for Fabric. Its features are switched in a config file, and the default enables everything except options that may be dangerous, such as chunk save states. Builds cover 1.20 – 26.2, with 2.2.0 for 26.2 as the latest file, and the code is released under the MIT License.
Key features
Restored update suppression
The StackOverflow and CCE update suppression behaviour returns, reversing patches made in 22w11a and 23w35a.
Entity ID and trapdoor fixes reversed
Entity ID suppression and trapdoor update skipping come back as they worked before the 26.2-pre-1 and 1.20-pre2 patches.
Graceful error handling
Out-of-memory and StackOverflow handling return to their earlier graceful behaviour, as the mod's author describes it.
Per-feature configuration
Each restored behaviour can be turned on or off separately, and dangerous options such as chunk save states start disabled.
Optional extras
A separate NotSoShadowExtras set, including updateSuppressionCrashFix and disableLightRecalculation, is not included in this mod.

Use cases
Keeping old server behaviour
Server owners who rely on how a past release handled these cases can keep that behaviour on newer builds.
Testing older game logic
Developers comparing the patched and unpatched code paths can switch each entry on or off from the config file.
Who it’s for: Fabric server owners who need specific older game behaviours preserved, and developers who compare patched and unpatched code. Players only join the server and need nothing installed.
