Ji Zoom Cinematic

by jiory_

Ji Zoom Cinematic adds a zoom camera for Fabric that players control with the scroll wheel, with eased transitions meant for terrain scouting and recording footage.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21 – 26.2

What it does

The zoom is driven by eased, fluid field-of-view changes, so a magnification step does not produce a sudden graphical snap. Players adjust the magnification level by scrolling the mouse wheel, and the maximum zoom depth can be configured past the standard optical limit. The mod synchronizes with Minecraft's cinematic camera, so panning stays smooth while zoomed in.

Requires Fabric API. Mod Menu is optional and can be used to reach the settings. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy. Files are published for Fabric alone, with builds covering 1.21 – 26.2 across 16 release versions, and the latest file is 1.0.1 for 26.2. The code is released under the MIT License, but the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Eased zoom transitions

Field-of-view changes ease in and out, replacing abrupt jumps when the zoom level changes.

  2. Scroll wheel control

The magnification level changes with the mouse scroll wheel, so zoom can be adjusted while flying.

  3. Uncapped magnification

Zoom can go beyond standard optical limits, with the maximum depth set in the configuration.

  4. Cinematic camera sync

Panning from Minecraft's cinematic camera works together with the zoom for smooth, zoomed-in motion.
