Jewel Craft
Jewel Craft adds gemstone mining, a set of five new jewelry workstations, magic rings and a Jeweler villager to Minecraft Java Edition for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1.
What it does
Rough gems are found in ores across the world and in new underground structures, including a deep Pillagers Hold. Facet gemstones are cut from them, and the five workstations turn those stones into rings, staffs and tools. Steel armor and tools are added as a replacement for netherite, and a Lightweight enchantment offsets the slowdown caused by heavy armor.
The mod changes several vanilla rules. Ores drop a randomized loot table, rough diamonds must be polished before they become standard diamonds, and an optional game rule lets players keep their rings after death. A built-in guidebook with advancements walks players through the recipes and the machines. The mod runs on Forge and NeoForge and requires Geckolib; the 1.20.1 content differs slightly from 1.21.1.
Key features
Gemstone mining and cutting
Rough gems come from ores and chests, and they are cut into facet gemstones before jewelry can be made.
Five jewelry workstations
Five new crafting stations produce rings, staffs and jewelry components from facet gems.
Magic rings and a luck ring
Rings are crafted at the workstations, and a new luck ring works with fortune and luck potions.
Steel equipment
Steel armor and tools are added, made from iron and coal, as a middle tier below netherite.

Use cases
Exploration and loot hunting
Players search biomes for gems and open underground structures, where a Jeweler villager sells items that are otherwise hard to find.
Survival with a harder pace
Heavier armor slows the player, and ores yield fewer resources, so progression takes longer.
Who it’s for: Players who want jewelry crafting, gem exploration and a slower survival progression, and server owners who want a themed extension of vanilla loot and trading.
How it compares
Gemstones From The Depths is also Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, and is under All rights reserved rather than the MIT License. Rings and Jewelry is Forge only and covers 1.20.1, so it does not reach 1.21.1. PPF Jewelry is NeoForge only, covers 1.21.1 and is open source under the MIT License.

What the author says
Simply put, this mod adds new magic rings that are crafted using 5 new workstations and 13 new ores located throughout the world... but it also adds so much more! Metal ores also now drop from a randomized loot table so you'll recieve either nuigests, raw ore or gravel. This can be improved by using fortune or luck…
