ItemPeek lets a player send an inventory item or container slot into the chat, where other players can hover over it to see the full tooltip.
What it does
While a player hovers over an item container screen, holding Shift and pressing the configured key, by default T, broadcasts the item under the cursor. Other players receive a chat message that includes the item name, quantity, rarity color and a preview. Hovering over that chat entry shows the full item tooltip, so the item can be inspected without being in anyone's inventory.
The mod works with inventories, chests, furnaces and other container screens that a player can open. Because the chat message is sent through the server, both the server and every player need the mod installed, and the message is visible to all players connected to that server. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with builds covering 1.20.1 – 26.3 across seven release versions. Forge and NeoForge builds are both maintained, and the code is open source under the MIT License, with the source code and issue tracker public.
