InstantMarker

by Ranzeplay

Players who mark a spot in the world can have InstantMarker show it to others on the same server, with a key press to place each marker.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.19 – 1.21.4

What it does

InstantMarker lets a player mark a position, and other players see the marker and a broadcast about it. Items can be shared around a marker across a 10×10×6 block area, and a biome marker can be shared as well. A configuration panel holds global settings, and a command system lets changes be made temporarily during play, while a Mod Menu integration is optional. Players can mute another player's markings, which adds that player to an ignore list, and unmute them later. Muted players' markers stay visible to the muted player, while the ignoring player stops seeing them.

The mod needs Fabric API and oωo (owo-lib) installed next to it. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Builds cover 1.19 – 1.21.4 on Fabric, and the latest file is 1.1 for 1.21.4. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Position markers

A key press places a marker that other players on the server can see, pointing at the marked position.

  2. Shared item areas

Items can be shared with others around a marker in a 10×10×6 block area.

  3. Biome markers

A marker can also share the biome at the marked position with other players.

  4. Configuration panel

Global configurations are edited in a panel, and a command changes settings temporarily while the game runs.

  5. Mute and unmute commands

Commands add a player to an ignore list or remove them, so markings from that player are hidden.

Questions

Does InstantMarker need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency, and oωo (owo-lib) is required as well. Both must be installed next to InstantMarker.

Does the server need the mod?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

How can a player stop seeing another player's markers?

A player can use the mute command, which adds the other player to an ignore list. The command to unmute removes them from that list.
