Container Item Finder
by Ranzeplay
Container Item Finder lets a player search nearby storage containers for a set of items and see where they are.
What it does
A command, cif, takes an item search, a radius in blocks and a minimum count. The mod then scans containers within that radius and reports the total number of matching items, how many containers hold them, and the coordinates of each container. A query for a stack of iron ingots within a 20-block radius, for example, returns whether that many exist in range and where they sit.
The mod is aimed at survival bases, large storage rooms and servers where chests are spread over a wide area. It is a server-side mod that adds a command and needs Fabric API on the server. Players who join the server do not have to install anything, since the environment is server required and client optional.
Files are published for Fabric only, across eight release versions spanning 1.21.5 – 26.3. The latest file is 0.2.f1 for 26.3, published 2026-10-13. The code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Item search command
The cif command accepts one or more item names and reports matches inside containers within a chosen radius.
Minimum count filter
A minimum number of items can be set, so the search only reports when enough of an item is stored nearby.
Totals and container count
Results show the total number of items found and how many containers hold them.
Container coordinates
Each matching container is listed with its coordinates, so the player can walk straight to it.
