Infinite Infinity

by blockerlocker

Infinite Infinity makes the Infinity enchantment apply to items that normally run out, such as tools, food, and buckets, so they stay usable.

What it does

With the mod installed, an item enchanted with Infinity no longer depletes. The enchantment can be obtained from an enchanted book and applied at an anvil, or added in Creative Mode with a command. Items the mod covers include totems, diamond blocks, fireworks, bonemeal, buckets and milk, among others, and the full list is given by the data pack.

Infinite Infinity is released under the MIT License and is not open source. The server needs it, while a player may add it to the client. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering 1.21 – 1.21.11, with the latest file 1.7+mod for 1.21.11. The mod also ships as a data pack, which is listed among its server platforms.

Key features

  1. Infinity on everyday items

Items enchanted with Infinity keep working indefinitely, including items that would otherwise be consumed on use.

  2. Enchanted book and anvil

The Infinity enchantment can be obtained from a book and applied to an item at an anvil in survival play.

  3. Command in Creative Mode

In Creative Mode, the enchantment can be added by typing a command while holding the item.

  4. Experimental enchantment system

The mod builds on the game's data-driven enchantment system, which is still considered experimental, and it needs a full world reload after the first installation.

Questions

Does Infinite Infinity need to be installed on the client?

No. The server must run the mod, but a player may leave it out, since either side can join without it being present on the client.

Which loaders does Infinite Infinity support?

Builds are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. The data pack is also listed as a server platform.

Why does the mod warn about a world reload?

It relies on the game's experimental data-driven enchantment system, so a full world reload is needed after the first installation.
