Improved Vanilla
by Buecher_wurm
Improved Vanilla adds small quality-of-life changes to the base game, such as simpler crop planting and harvesting, mineable spawners, and spawn eggs from mobs and spawners.
What it does
Right-clicking mature crops harvests them, and right-clicking with seeds fills nearby farmland within a small radius, which speeds up planting a field. Spawners can be mined with a silk-touch pickaxe and drop a spawn egg for the mob they hold. Mobs have a 2% chance to drop a spawn egg. Several recipes and items are added to the crafting system by default, and the wiki lists them.
The changes are meant to make everyday play in vanilla Minecraft a little more pleasant, without introducing new dimensions, bosses or progression. Every addition can be adjusted or switched off in the configuration file, so a server owner can keep only the features that suit the world. The mod requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 24 release versions, 1.12.2 – 1.21.10. Only the server needs it, and players join without installing anything. The code is not open source; it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license.
Key features
Crop harvesting on right-click
Right-clicking a fully grown crop harvests it without breaking the plant, which makes large farms quicker to work.
Area farmland planting
Right-clicking farmland with seeds plants a small area around the target block in one action.
Mineable spawners
Spawners can be mined with a silk-touch pickaxe and drop a spawn egg for the mob they contain.
Spawn eggs from mobs
Mobs drop a spawn egg with a 2% chance when they die, giving a way to obtain eggs without a creative inventory.
