I Can't Do Math!
by pmakin
I Can't Do Math! is a Fabric client-side storage calculator that works out how many shulker boxes, double chests and stacks a given item count needs.
What it does
Players enter a total item count and the stack size of the item, and the menu reports the storage required in shulkers, double chests, stacks and loose items. The calculation covers the common containers used for bulk storage, so a builder planning a stockpile can check the number before collecting or moving anything.
The tool is useful to builders, hoarders and resource managers who plan large storage rooms. Fabric API is required, and the mod is open source under the MIT License. Files cover 1.20 – 1.21.10 on Fabric only, with 1.0.3+1.21.9 for 1.21.10 as the latest build, published 2025-10-18. Because it runs on the client alone, servers do not need it.
Key features
Shulker and double chest totals
The result lists how many shulker boxes and double chests a count fills, rather than a single raw number of items.
Stack-aware breakdown
Output separates full stacks from leftover items, so the remainder is visible at a glance.
Editable input fields
Item quantity and stack size are entered in simple fields, and the values update the result.
Configuration options
Several options can be changed in the settings, and the author plans further customizable settings in later updates.

Use cases
Planning a stockpile
A player who needs a fixed number of blocks for a build can calculate the containers to prepare before gathering.
Checking a hoard
A resource manager can compare a total count against the chests and shulkers already in a storage room.
Who it’s for: Players who plan large builds, collect bulk resources or manage shared storage in single-player worlds. Because it is client-side only, it is most useful when the player wants a quick calculation without any server change.
How it compares
ChestTracker is client-side only and released under the MIT License, with files for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, so it tracks container contents rather than calculating storage needs. Balanced Stack Sizes is open source under the MIT License and runs on the client and server together, but its only file targets 1.21.3, and it changes stack sizes instead of computing totals. UniversalFinder is client-side only and licensed as All rights reserved, built for 1.21.11 on Fabric.
