Hour clock 24
by Mai_xiyu
Hour clock 24 changes how day and night are timed, so the in-game sunrise and sunset follow the real-world date and a 24-hour cycle.
What it does
Hour clock 24 replaces the usual day-night timing with a clock tied to the real world. Sunrise and sunset shift automatically with the date, so the length of day in game follows the seasons, with the longest day at the summer solstice and the shortest at the winter solstice. The author states the aim is to match the Minecraft day-night cycle to the rotation of the Earth, giving the game a closer match to the player's local light.
A 24-hour mode is available and turned on or off by players with the hourclock true and hourclock false commands. The hourclock dawntime command lets a player set the sunrise time to their own preference. The author describes the mod as inspired by a sudden idea and built to bring the in-game day into line with the real one.
Installation is for Forge only, with files for 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3 and 1.20.4. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own. The code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved. The latest Forge file is 1.6 for 1.20.4, published 2025-09-19, and the mod was first published 2024-12-20.
