HexStruction
by PetersonE1
HexStruction is a Fabric addon for Hex Casting that adds a Structure iota, letting spells capture and place built structures in the world.
What it does
A spell can consume a region of the world and store it as a Structure iota. The stored copy can be rotated and mirrored before it is placed again, so one captured build can be reused in another spot. Stored structures are shown to the caster as timed ghost blocks, giving a preview of the layout before it is put back.
The addon works alongside Hex Casting and needs no separate spell book, since the new iota is used with the spells Hex Casting already provides. It runs on the client and the server, so both sides need the mod. Files are published for Fabric only, with six release versions in total, and 1.3.1+1.20.1 for 1.20.1 is the latest file. HexStruction is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Structure iota
A new iota type stores a captured region of blocks so spells can handle it like any other value.
Region capture
A spell consumes the blocks in a chosen region and records them into a Structure iota.
Rotate and mirror
Stored structures can be turned or flipped before they are placed, changing the orientation of the copy.
Ghost block preview
A stored structure appears as timed ghost blocks, showing where its blocks will go before placement.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Reusing a build
A player captures a finished room or tower once and places copies of it elsewhere by casting the stored structure.
Checking a layout
Ghost blocks show the outline of a stored structure first, so a builder can confirm its position and orientation.
Who it’s for: Players who already use Hex Casting and want spells that move and reuse building layouts. Server owners who run Hex Casting on a multiplayer server also need the addon installed on the server.
How it compares
MoreIotas is open source under the MIT License and runs on Fabric and Forge, with files for 1.19.2 – 1.20.1 and an environment of client and server. Hexcellular is also open source under the MIT License, for Fabric and Quilt, with files for 1.19.2 – 1.20.1. Hexcessible runs on the client alone, is built for Fabric across 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, and is not open source under a custom license, so it does not fit a server install.
