Hexchanting

by arconyx

With Hexchanting, equipment and amethyst tools can carry Hex Casting spells, so a block break, a sword hit or an arrow impact can trigger a cast.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

The mod imbues amethyst equipment with Hex Casting power. Crafted amethyst tools can cast a spell after a block is broken, pushing the location of that block onto the stack, and enchantments can propagate a Break Block spell cast with the tool. Wielding an amethyst sword casts a hit spell that pushes the targeted entity onto the stack. Amethyst armour responds to several kinds of triggers: helmets cast on aggro, chestplates on damage, leggings on death and boots on falling.

Hexchanting also adds a new spell that lets a player embed a pattern list into items, so that a specific trigger condition runs it. Amethyst arrows can be fired with an embedded hex, drawn from a small media supply, and cast on impact with an entity or block, pushing the struck target onto the stack. Information about the triggering event is pushed onto the stack before execution, so the hex can use it.

Hexchanting requires Hex Casting. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Builds exist only for Fabric, for 1.20.1, and the latest beta file, 1.3.0-beta1, was published on the beta channel on 2026-10-11. The code is open source under the MIT License.
