GregTech Expert Core is a Forge add-on for 1.12.2 that extends the GregTech CE Unofficial machine and tool set with new parts, tools and processing changes.
What it does
The mod adds ULV parts such as motors and pistons, a high-voltage and IV-tier chainsaw, and separate changes to the Electric Implosion Compressor and the Sawmill. Its config options let server owners tune difficulty further, including integration with non-GregTech wood creation. Several changes keep older tools and armor from other mods working inside the GregTech system.
The mod needs GregTech CE Unofficial, Gregicality Multiblocks and MixinBooter to run. It is published for Forge and 1.12.2 only, with the latest beta file 2.7.8 dated 2026-06-12, and it is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so the source code is open source. Both the server and every player need it, because it runs on client and server.

A chainsaw at the HV and IV voltage tiers joins the GregTech tool line.

Sawmill changes are kept apart and extended to process wood through the GTWoodProcessing rules.
Dependency cleanup
Integration with several energy and item systems was reworked so those systems are not needed.
