GregTech Experimental
by Su5eD
GregTech Experimental is a GregTech 3 rewrite for 1.12.2 that brings industrial machines, upgrades and recipe tooling into the game.
What it does
The mod is a fully featured port of GregTech 3 for modern Minecraft versions, built on a cleaned-up codebase that rewrites the original. Machine performance is improved and several bugs are fixed, while the original GT3 form stays available for players who want it unchanged. Machines, tools and upgrades follow the familiar GregTech layout, and fluids and tools are adjusted so recipes fit the system together.
Balance has been reworked to accommodate the experimental changes made to IndustrialCraft 2, so the two mods work together as intended. Industrial Craft is required and must be installed alongside GregTech Experimental. Just Enough Items (JEI) and Tinkers' Construct are optional; JEI adds recipe lookup and Tinkers' Construct adds further compatibility.
The mod is published for Forge only, for 1.12.2 as its single game version, with the latest file 1.0.3 dated 2026-08-13. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and is open source, with public source code, an issue tracker and a wiki. Client and server both need it, so players and the server must run the same build.
