Glaiden's Audio
by glaiden
With Glaiden's Audio, players can set up radio broadcasting in a survival or role play world, using boomboxes, transmitters and towers that carry custom audio.
What it does
The mod adds a radio transmitter, two kinds of receivers (towers and boomboxes) and dyeable cassettes that can be placed next to redstone. Custom audio can be broadcast through the transmitter, so a world can carry music or recorded transmissions chosen by the builder.
Broadcast quality depends on distance and terrain. Building additional web radio towers extends the reach, while more interference appears the farther a receiver sits from a transmitter. Height and weather also change how clearly sound comes through.
Glaiden's Audio runs on Forge and NeoForge, and it needs both the server and every player to run it, as the environment is client and server. Files cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with 1.5.2 as the latest file for each loader. The code is not open source; the mod is released under All rights reserved.
Key features
Radio transmitter
A transmitter broadcasts custom audio that receivers in range pick up.
Towers and boomboxes
Two receiver types let players hear a broadcast from a fixed tower or a portable boombox.
Dyeable cassettes
Cassettes take a dye color and can be placed and played alongside redstone controls.
Interference and range
Signal strength falls with distance, and extra towers reduce the interference between a transmitter and a receiver.

Use cases
Role play worlds
Builders can stage a radio network in a town or station, with towers and boomboxes placed where characters would expect them.
Survival radio
Players can rely on a broadcast that fades with distance and weather, adding a practical reason to build relays.
Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want radio broadcasting with custom audio in a role play or survival setting.

Classic Peripherals is open source under the MIT License, also runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and covers 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, but it adds computer peripherals rather than audio broadcasting.
