Gilded Ingot
by Intijir
Gilded Ingot adds gilded ingots made from Gilded Blackstone, along with armor and tools that are slightly better than iron, and several smaller features for the Nether.
What it does
Gilded Ingot lets players smelt Gilded Blackstone into gilded ingots, which then serve as a crafting material for armor and tools that rank a little above iron. Beacons accept gilded ingots as a payment item, and Piglins take them in trades, so the metal has a second use beyond crafting; a player wearing gilded armor will also find that Piglins stop treating them as enemies.
The mod adds a set of minor features on top of these. Warped Warts are a new food source that needs lava nearby to grow, and eating them regenerates a small amount of hunger with a large saturation value. Lapis-Lazuli Basalt ore, Gilded Blackstone generation inside Basalt Deltas, new building blocks and shroomlights that drop fruit are also included.
Gilded Ingot is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Fabric API is required, and files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across six game versions, 1.16.5 – 1.21.1, under the MIT License, which makes it open source.
Key features
Gilded ingot smelting
Gilded Blackstone smelts into gilded ingots, which become the base material for the mod's crafting recipes.
Gilded armor and tools
Armor and tools crafted from gilded ingots sit slightly above iron in strength, as the mod's gear set.
Piglin interaction
Gilded ingots serve for bartering with Piglins, and wearing gilded armor keeps Piglins from attacking.
Warped Wart food
Warped Warts are a new food that regenerates hunger and saturation when eaten, and they grow only near lava.
