GhostZ adds a Ghost Lantern, a lighting tool that can be crafted, placed as a block and upgraded from the vanilla Soul Lantern.
What it does
Cave mining sessions often mean carrying torches, and the Ghost Lantern is meant to replace them. It is an item that can also be placed as a block, and a normal Ghost Lantern serves as the light source in the recipe. The mod also introduces small wisps, temporary light sources that the lantern places around the player.
Wisps are limited in number. When a new wisp is placed past the cap, the oldest wisps are removed first, and the lantern's meter refills over time. The lantern gains levels during adventures by killing mobs, so its behavior changes as the player progresses. Visual effects are also reworked to look more polished.
GhostZ is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric only, across seven release versions 1.19 – 1.20.1, with 1.0.3-1.20 for 1.20.1 as the latest file. Fabric API is required. The server and every player need the mod installed. Public links cover the source code, issue tracker and wiki.
