FogBeGone
by Skorlex
Players who find thick fog or status-effect haze distracting can use FogBeGone to clear individual fog types, from the Overworld fog to the underwater and lava overlays.
What it does
Each fog category in the game can be tuned or turned off separately with FogBeGone, a client-side Fabric mod. Water and lava fog can be set anywhere from fully clear to the default Minecraft fog, while the Blindness and Darkness overlays can be switched off separately. Overworld distance fog, Nether biome fog, the End fog during the Ender Dragon fight and the World Border edge fog each have their own toggle.
The mod runs on the client alone, so a server does not need it and players can join without it. Installation needs Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional and adds an options screen for the settings. FogBeGone is open source under the MIT License and has files for 26.2 and 26.3, with 1.2.0 for 26.3 as the latest build, published on 2026-09-15.
Key features
Underwater fog control
The water fog can be set from completely clear to the default Minecraft fog, and underwater overlays can be turned off.
Lava fog control
The lava fog has a slider from 0 percent, where lava can be seen clearly through, up to the default 100 percent.
Blindness and Darkness overlays
The black screen from Blindness and the pulsing effect from the Warden's Deep Dark can each be turned off without affecting other effects.
Dimension and border fog
Overworld distance fog, Nether biome fog, End fog during the dragon fight and the world border edge fog can be removed one at a time.

Use cases
Clear views in the Nether
Players exploring the Nether can remove the thick biome fog that limits how far they can see.
Deep Dark exploration
Players who play through the Deep Dark can turn off the darkness pulse while keeping the rest of the game unchanged.
Who it’s for: Players who want to adjust how fog looks in their own client. Because it changes only the client, each player chooses their own settings.
