Fen's Simple Kits
by Johnfender17
Fen's Simple Kits gives server administrators a kit system for Forge 1.20.1, where items placed in an inventory are saved as a kit with one command.
What it does
Administrators place items in their inventory and run a single command to turn them into a kit. Kits can then be edited or deleted with short commands, and each kit can have its own cooldown timer that is adjusted in the same way. Players claim kits with a simple command, and cooldowns are tracked per player so each kit can be taken again only after its timer runs out.
Access is controlled by per-kit permission nodes. A kit named Starter, for example, uses the node simplekits.kit.starter, and the names are always lower-case. Permissions can be granted through FTB Ranks or LuckPerms. Admin commands for creating, deleting and setting cooldowns require permission level 2 (OP), so only operators manage kits. Kit data is stored in JSON files, which makes backup and transfer simple. English and Russian localizations are included.
Key features
Kits from inventory
Items in the administrator's inventory become a kit through one command, with no manual list of contents to type.
Adjustable cooldowns
The cooldown timer of each kit can be set, and cooldowns are tracked for every player separately.
Per-kit permissions
Each kit uses its own permission node, which FTB Ranks or LuckPerms can assign to specific groups of players.
Simple claim commands
Players claim kits with a short command, so starter gear, class loadouts or minigame sets can be handed out without extra setup.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Starter kits on survival servers
A survival server can give new players a basic set of tools and food, with a cooldown to keep the reward fair.
Class loadouts on minigame servers
Each class can be defined as a kit and limited to the players who hold its permission node.
Who it’s for: Server administrators who want to hand out item sets to players without building a custom plugin. Both the server and every player need the mod, which is released under All rights reserved.
How it compares
Kit Roles is client required with the server optional, released under the MIT License, so its role features need the client. EasyKit is a client and server mod with all rights reserved. Auto Repair Kits targets 1.20 – 1.20.1 and also needs both sides, under the same all rights reserved license.
