Origin: Fantasy is a Forge addon for the Origins mod that adds fantasy origins, each with its own abilities and drawbacks, for Minecraft 1.20.1.
What it does
Origin: Fantasy adds a set of fantastical ancestries to the Origins system. Each origin is built around a theme such as flame, celestial magic, shadow or cursed fate, and comes with abilities and drawbacks that are balanced against each other. Its origins include Dreambeast Kaiju, King Beasts, Scorchscale Hydra, Mimic Spawn and Obsidian Born.
The origins are meant to be chosen at the start of a world and shape how a character moves through it. The mod is released as a single Forge build for Minecraft 1.20.1 and needs Origins on Forge and Pehkui to run. The author describes the origins as backed by a written story, which lets players look into the history behind each ancestry's powers.
The mod runs on client and server, so a multiplayer server and every player need it installed. Files exist for one game version only, 1.20.1, and the latest file is 1.1.0, published on 2025-04-15. The code is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
