Extra Villager Professions - Miner
by draemato
Extra Villager Professions - Miner gives villagers a Miner profession, with trades for spelunking and mining items on a Blast Furnace-style workstation, for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt.
What it does
The mod adds a new trade set for villagers that offers items tied to spelunking and mining, including an Iron Pickaxe, Raw Iron, Raw Gold and a Blast Furnace. Trades are delivered through the trade datapack content introduced in 26.1, so the mod works through datapack content rather than code that changes the profession system directly.
Because vanilla does not allow a truly new profession with its own block mechanics, the mod works by replacing the trades of an existing profession under certain conditions. A villager becomes a Miner when it is renamed with a Name Tag, and the change applies to a Toolsmith-style Smithing Table. Level 1 trades are replaced only when this order is followed, and existing trades are not modified. The trade progression runs through Levels 1 to 5. Ancient Debris is offered only at Level 5 and only in the Nether, so a player has to level a villager up to that point to see the trade.
Installation requires the server to run the mod, and clients need it too. The mod requires [ETF] Entity Texture Features. It is released under the GNU General Public License v2.0 only and is not open source. Builds cover 26.1 – 26.1.2, with 2.1.0-beta as the latest file for each loader.
Key features
Spelunking trade set
Villagers offer items related to spelunking and mining, including an Iron Pickaxe, Raw Iron, Raw Gold and a Blast Furnace.
Five trade levels
Trades are arranged across Levels 1 to 5, and the Ancient Debris offer only appears at Level 5 in the Nether.
Renamed profession
A villager is turned into a Miner by renaming it with a Name Tag, and this replaces the Toolsmith trades at its workstation.
Optional resourcepack
An optional resourcepack gives Miners a distinct look and translated names, while the default keeps the vanilla Toolsmith texture.

What the author says
Adds a new set of trades for things related to Spelunking and Mining - using new Villager Trade datapack features added in 26.1. Fully server-side, no installation on the client required. Due to limitations of this Vanilla method this is not a true brand new profession with its own block and mechanics. What it does…
