Enchantica
by mega7
Enchantica lets players put enchantments on items that could not take them before, such as elytras, shields, flint and steel, and hoes.
What it does
The mod adds more than 33 enchantments aimed at weapons, tools, armor and elytras, and it extends existing items so that some accept enchantments they do not get in vanilla, for example shields that take thorns. The enchantments are built to fit into the vanilla enchanting system rather than replace it, and they fill gaps where items were rarely enchanted.
Some enchantments are described in a shared format on the mod's pages, with the same layout for each one. The author states that the set is not final: enchantments may be renamed, reworked or removed during development, and the author notes which parts may change. Installing the mod with a matching loader and Minecraft version is the first step, and the Data pack option covers servers that run datapacks.
Enchantica is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.21.2 – 1.21.4. A server owner must install it, while players may add it without it being required on their side. The code is under the MIT License and is not open source in the catalog's sense.
Key features
Enchantments for underused items
Elytras, hoes and other items that rarely receive enchantments gain their own set of effects.
Enchanting new item types
Items that could not be enchanted in vanilla, such as elytras, shields and flint and steel, can now take enchantments.
Extended enchantment targets
Existing enchantments can apply to more item types, so shields accept thorns and similar options become available on other gear.
Larger enchantment set
The mod introduces more than 33 enchantments across weapons, tools, armor and elytras.

How it compares
NoElytraForYou covers elytras on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21 – 1.21.4, and it is needed on the server, with the client optional, with only the server needing it. Unlimited Enchantments targets 1.21.9 – 26.3 with the same loaders, and a server needs it while players may skip it. Izzy's Enchantments is server-side only and works on 1.21 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License.
