Eldritch Awakening
Eldritch Awakening is a Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that transforms the world into a setting of eldritch horrors, shadows and new dimensions to explore.
What it does
Once installed, the mod reshapes the overworld with eldritch horrors lurking in the shadows, and opens mysterious dimensions where strong entities test a player's limits. The Eclipsed Dimension is a realm shrouded in darkness, where the fallen seraph Malachar waits for players brave enough to challenge him. Exotic woods such as Lilium Arbor and the shadowy Umbral Oak grow in these areas, and their timber suits crafting and building.
Traversing the uncharted biomes means managing sanity, since the horrors take a toll over time. The mod is filled with overpowered loot dropped by eldritch nightmares, and the creature Lumenwing is one of many threats that blend into the dark. The author notes that more content is planned for later versions, and that the full experience depends on enabling command blocks in the game.
Eldritch Awakening requires Geckolib, LDLib and Photon, which must be installed alongside it. It runs on the client and the server, so both need the mod. The mod is published for Forge only, in one release for 1.20.1, and the code is all rights reserved, not open source.
