Effect Extractor

by Pipinomandarino

Effect Extractor lets players pull active potion effects out of their character and store them in a real vanilla potion bottle.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Right-clicking while holding potion effects turns them into a vanilla potion that carries those effects, and the potion's color is generated from the effects it stores. The conversion costs the player 50% of current health, which the server can configure, and a player whose health would drop to zero by that cost cannot use it. The crafting recipe is survival-balanced: an iron bottle is built from iron ingots, glass and an iron block, and a custom advancement covers the recipe. The mod requires Glass Bottles in the inventory, since the potion is made from a bottle.

Advanced Effect Extractor is included, and both variants run in singleplayer and multiplayer. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Files are published for NeoForge 1.0 for 1.21.1 and Forge 1.1 for 1.20.1. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. Localization covers English and Spanish.

Key features

  1. Effect extraction

Active potion effects are removed from the player and placed into a vanilla potion that can be drunk or thrown later.

  2. Dynamic potion color

The color of the created potion is generated from the effects stored in it, so different effect sets look different.

  3. Configurable health cost

Extraction drains 50% of current health by default, and the percentage can be changed in the configuration.

  4. Custom crafting and advancements

An iron bottle recipe and a crafting advancement are added, placing the mod's first step in the survival progression.

How it compares

Full comparison

Eternal Potions is also for Forge and NeoForge, and it is published for 1.20.1 – 1.21.4 under All rights reserved, so it covers the same loaders with a wider version span. Burn's Enchantment Extractor is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.20.1 – 1.21.8, licensed under All rights reserved, and works on both client and server. Enchantment Extractor is server required with client optional, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, and reaches 1.21.2 – 26.3, so it is a different kind of extractor that handles enchantments.

Questions

Can the server change the health cost?

Yes. The 50% current health cost is configurable, so the server owner can set a different percentage.

Which loaders and versions does Effect Extractor support?
