Echo Pickaxe is a Fabric and NeoForge mining utility where breaking one ore sends a glowing echo wave that reveals hidden ores of the same type nearby.
What it does
When a player mines an ore with an eligible pickaxe, a glowing echo travels out and briefly marks neighboring ores of the same kind, including those that touch the broken block only diagonally. Ores of the same vein are highlighted, so a player can see a whole cluster before digging into it. The echo uses a soft glow, a quiet amethyst resonance sound and vanilla particles, and it reveals each newly found ore once.
The mod is aimed at finding ancient debris in the Nether and diamonds buried in netherrack or stone, where a single ore is hard to spot. A Sonar Pulse key sends out a wider scan on demand, and it also works with no pickaxe in hand. Players can keep the mod permanently active or limit it to sneaking, and the set of allowed pickaxe tiers, required enchantments, echo radius, glow duration and each ore type can all be adjusted.
Installation needs Cloth Config API and Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional for its settings screen. Servers and players both need the mod, since it runs on client and server. Builds cover 1.21.11 – 26.3 for Fabric and NeoForge, and the mod is released under the MIT License but is not open source.
Key features
Smart echo wave
Mining an ore emits a glowing wave that highlights matching ores nearby, including diagonal and adjacent blocks of the same vein.
Netherite hunting
Searching the Nether for ancient debris is less tedious, because the echo marks debris hidden among netherrack.
Activation state
The echo can stay always on, or be set to trigger only while the player sneaks, which keeps the screen clean when mining large veins.
Pickaxe whitelist and enchantment rules
Wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond and netherite pickaxes can each be allowed or excluded, and required enchantments such as Fortune III, Efficiency V or Silk Touch can be set for balance in survival worlds.
Per-ore toggles
Each supported ore type, from the common metals to ancient debris and gilded blackstone, can be enabled or disabled one at a time.

How it compares
Simple Ore Miner is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0 license, with files for 1.21.3 – 26.3. Orevein shares the client and server environment of Echo Pickaxe and is also under the MIT License, but it is not an echo-based highlight and targets 1.21.11 – 26.3.
