EatServerPacks

by thosea

EatServerPacks lets a Fabric client decline a required server resource pack without leaving the server, so a player can keep their own textures.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Normally a server can force a resource pack on connecting players. EatServerPacks adds a button to the server info screen that refuses that required pack while still letting the server believe the pack was accepted. The default pack policy for each server can be set on the same screen, and holding Shift while pressing the button opens the pack link in the browser instead. Only the client needs the mod, so servers run without it and players join without installing anything on the server side. Fabric API is optional. Files cover 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License, and the code is open source.

Key features

  1. Reject required packs

A button on the server info screen declines a server resource pack that the server marks as required.

  2. Default pack policy

The pack policy for a server can be set from its info screen, so the choice applies each time that server is joined.

  3. Open the pack link

Holding Shift while pressing the button opens the pack link in a browser instead of rejecting it.

What the author says

Don't want to use a required server resource pack? Eat it! This mod adds a new button that will silently reject a required server resource pack, then tell the server that you accepted it when you really didn't. You can also set this as the default pack policy in the server info screen. You can even hold shift when…
