Easy Elevators

by Serilum

Easy Elevators lets players travel up or down large distances at once by building a multiblock elevator from blocks and chains.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer-side onlyAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

An elevator is a column of blocks that players can ride to move vertically. The default blocks are iron and copper blocks, joined by iron chains or end rods as connectors. Players jump to go up and crouch to go down. The mod can be configured so that the chain connector is not needed at all, and the blocks and connectors can be changed to any resource location.

Size limits, the chain rule and the maximum height for chainless elevators are all set in the config. The default minimum footprint is 3x3 and the maximum is 5x5. Chains are required by default, so two iron blocks must be linked in order to work. With that rule disabled, a chainless elevator can travel up to 20 blocks by default, a limit that can be raised to 1000. The config also sets how many blocks the mod checks while searching for another elevator.

The mod runs on the server, so players join without installing anything. Collective is required on every loader. Easy Elevators is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across the 1.20.1 – 26.3 range, under All rights reserved and not open source.

Key features

  1. Multiblock elevators

Elevator columns are built from placed blocks and connectors, so no separate elevator item is needed.

  2. Configurable blocks

The elevator and connector blocks are set by resource location, with iron and copper blocks and iron chains or end rods as defaults.

  3. Size and height limits

Minimum and maximum footprint sizes, the chain requirement and the chainless height cap can each be adjusted in the config.

  4. Crouch to descend

Players jump to rise and crouch to descend, with each ride covering the full column in one move.

Questions

Does Easy Elevators need Collective?

Yes. Collective is a required dependency on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and must be installed alongside Easy Elevators.

Do players need to install Easy Elevators?

No. The mod is server-side only, so only the server needs it and players join without installing anything.

Can the chain connector be removed?

Yes. The config can disable the chain requirement, and the maximum height for chainless elevators can then be set between 1 and 1000 blocks.

Which game versions are supported?

Files exist for 1.20.1, 1.20.6 and every release up to 26.3, including the 26.1 and 26.2 builds, with 26.3.0-1.4 as the latest file.
