DynRes
by JFronny
DynRes lets a server host its resource pack directly from the game server, using an integrated web server instead of an external file host.
What it does
The mod runs an integrated web server that serves the resource pack from the server directory. The port, the pack file path and whether a hash checksum is sent to clients are all set in the mod configuration. Clients can then cache the pack, which the mod's hashResources option supports by providing a checksum.
DynRes is server-side only, so players join without installing it, and the server needs no extra setup beyond its own configuration. The resource pack hosting code comes from LibJF, the required dependency, which provides the web server through its libjf-web-v1 library. Configuration is split across two files because that library is more general than DynRes. Mod Menu is optional and only adds a configuration screen.
The mod is published for Fabric only, across 35 release versions 1.16.4 – 26.3, under the MIT License, and it is open source. Its latest file is 26.3.0 for 26.3, released on 2026-09-15.
Key features
Direct pack hosting
The server serves its resource pack from its own directory, so no separate file host is needed for players to fetch it.
Configurable web server
The port, the address the server announces and the pack path are set in the config, and a port override is available.
Pack checksum for caching
An option sends a hash of the pack so clients can reuse cached copies instead of fetching it again.
Connection logging
A client-side log line records some details about server connections, which helps when diagnosing pack transfers.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Fabric server owners who distribute a resource pack to players and want to host it themselves. Players only need the client, and need no DynRes installation.
How it compares
ResourcePack Server is also server-side only and open source under the MIT License, but it covers 1.19 – 1.21.1 on Fabric. Polypack Host is server-side only, open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license and limited to 1.18 – 1.18.2. DynRes covers a far wider range, 1.16.4 – 26.3, on Fabric only, with the same server-side environment.

What the author says
DynRes uses an integrated web server to serve a resource pack directly from the server directory. It also modifies the server to specify that pack as the default (overwrites resource-pack and resource-pack-sha1 in server.properties). You can configure the port for the web server, the file to host and whether to…
