Dyeless Concrete Recipes
by formerlyduck
Dyeless Concrete Recipes lets players craft plain concrete without dye, then mix a color later by adding dye to the concrete.
What it does
Plain concrete becomes a craftable block that needs no dye, so a large build no longer depends on how much dye a player has collected. Each batch can later be colored by combining it with the dye of a chosen color in the crafting grid. The author describes the change as a response to the real-life requirement to mix dye into concrete, which the vanilla recipe reflects.
The mod is aimed at builders working on large projects and at automated setups, where a concrete farm would otherwise need a dedicated section for growing dye. Because the recipes are plain crafting entries, an automated factory can produce concrete with tech mods and no dye supply line. Players who only want the convenience can skip the color step entirely.
The mod is a Forge mod for 1.19.4 and 1.20.1, and either side can run it while neither needs it to join a world that lacks it. The license is MIT, and the code is not open source. Dyeless Concrete Recipes has no required dependencies, and the latest Forge file is 1.2.1 for 1.20.1, published on 2024-05-02.
Key features
Dye-free plain concrete
Plain concrete can be crafted without any dye, so a build needs only the powder and water used by the regular recipe.
Coloring later
Plain concrete can be mixed with a chosen dye afterward, so the color is picked at the point of use.
Automation friendly
The recipes suit automated production in factory setups, removing the need for a dye farm.
Built with MCreator
The mod was made with MCreator, and its files cover two game versions for Forge.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who build with large amounts of concrete, and modpack authors who want concrete production that does not depend on a farm for dye.
How it compares
Smooth Concrete is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 on the client and server, under All rights reserved and not open source. Wool to Dye is a Forge and NeoForge mod for 1.19.4 – 1.21, which the server must run and clients may skip, and it is released under the MIT License. Better Concrete Conversion is open source under the MIT License and is server-side only, covering 1.21 – 1.21.10 on Fabric and Forge, so it targets newer versions than this mod.

What the author says
Have you ever wanted to make lots of concrete for a build project, but you were limited by how much dye you could collect? Not only is it inconvenient, it's unrealistic. With this mod, plain concrete has been added. It is identical to regular concrete in function, but it needs no dye to craft (though you can dye it…
