Don't Drop It!
Don't Drop It! is a client-side Fabric and Quilt mod that blocks accidental item drops through two independent guards, and it lets players rebind the modifier that drops a full stack.
What it does
Two systems cover the most common accidents. A drop delay requires the drop key to be held for a configurable number of ticks before an item leaves the inventory, and a screen guard stops items from being dropped by clicking outside an open screen or by closing one. Each system can be enabled or disabled separately, so a player can keep either one or both.
The guard can be set to cover all items, only favorite items, or be turned off completely. Favorite items are the ones the player has marked, so the rest of the inventory can still be dropped freely. The modifier that drops an entire stack defaults to Left Control and can be rebound in the controls menu. Configuration is available through Mod Menu when that optional dependency is installed.
Fabric API is required on Fabric. The mod bundles Amecs and Cloth Config API, so they need no separate install. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it. Builds cover 1.16.2 – 1.19.2 on Fabric and Quilt, with v2.5.0+1.19 for 1.19.2 as the latest file, and the code is open source under the MIT License.

Drop delay
The drop key must be held for a set number of ticks before an item is dropped, which stops single presses from losing stacks.
Screen drop guard
Dropping items by clicking outside an open screen or by closing a screen can be blocked, each behavior on its own setting.
Favorite-only protection
The guard can apply to only favorite items, leaving other stacks free to drop.
Rebindable stack modifier
The key combined with the drop key to drop a whole stack can be changed, with Left Control as the default.
