Display Poser

by LDEV

Display Poser lets a player place a block display in the world and then change its block, position, rotation and scale with commands, including after it has been created.

FabricClient or server, optionalApache License 2.01.21.4 – 1.21.11

What it does

A block display is created with the createblockdisplay command, and it takes on the block the player is looking at. The editblockdisplay command then changes that display's block, position, rotation and scale, so an element can be adjusted without removing and placing it again. The attributes stay editable after the display exists.

The mod is a Fabric add-on that adds a graphical interface for block displays. It works in single-player worlds on Minecraft 1.21.7 and 1.21.10, and in multiplayer when Fabric and the mod are installed on both the client and the server. Builds cover 1.21.4 – 1.21.11, and the latest file is 1.12 for 1.21.11, published 2026-01-10. It is released under the Apache License 2.0 and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Block display creation

The createblockdisplay command places a block display showing the block under the player's crosshair.

  2. Attribute editing

The editblockdisplay command adjusts position, rotation and scale of an existing block display.

  3. Block swapping

The block shown by a display can be changed after it has been placed, without creating a new one.

  4. Billboard and glow options

Billboard, glowing and glow color settings are available for block displays, with a hex value for the glow color.

Questions

Does Display Poser need a loader other than Fabric?

No. The latest file is published for Fabric only, so Fabric is the loader to install it on.

Does Display Poser have to be installed on the server?

No. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, so single-player and multiplayer both work with it installed on either side.

Which Minecraft versions does Display Poser support?

Files exist for 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.7, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, which is the range 1.21.4 – 1.21.11.
