Dispenser Spear

by Orbinuity

Dispenser Spear lets dispensers fire spears, so a spear placed in a dispenser works as a weapon instead of staying a plain item.

FabricForgeClient and serverBSD 3-Clause LicenseOpen source1.21.11 – 26.1

What it does

A dispenser loaded with spears uses them like a weapon when the redstone signal fires. The spear keeps its own jab damage, plays sound effects, and gets a collision shape so it can strike entities on its path. Enchantments on the spear keep working after it is dispensed.

The mod is aimed at redstone traps, turrets and automated defenses built in survival worlds or on servers. It is built for Fabric and Forge, with files for 26.1 and the 1.21.11 – 26.1 range. Client and server both run it, so the server and every player need it. The code is open source under the BSD 3-Clause License, with public source and an issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Dispensers fire spears

A dispenser holding spears fires them as a weapon when powered, rather than just placing the item.

  2. Spear jab damage

Spears keep their own jab damage, so dispensed hits follow the spear's stats instead of a generic value.

  3. Collision and sound

Dispensed spears have a collision shape that can hit entities in their path, and they play sound effects when fired.

  4. Enchantments carry over

Enchantments on a spear remain active after it is dispensed, so an enchanted spear keeps its effects in a trap.

Use cases

Automated defenses

A redstone circuit can fire enchanted spears at intruders on a base wall or in a corridor.

Redstone traps

Spears launched by dispensers can be combined with pressure plates and tripwires for trap designs.

Who it’s for: Players building redstone defenses or traps in survival worlds, and server owners who want automated spear turrets on a multiplayer server. Both the server and each player need the mod for it to work.
